The value add of podcasting.
We recorded this podcast, our first show in a series, with Attensa and Akamai. The idea behind this series is to look at the value of podcasting, producing a show, distribution issues to consider and the ways businesses can establish a feed network. Lockergnome provides an explanation, complete with Q&A.
In our first show, we looked at the value of podcasting, citing podcasting experts, recent studies and the ways corporations are starting to use podcasting for reaching target audiences, be it for brand identity, product marketing or reaching sales representatives.
Topics we cover in the first part of the show:
What is the value of podcasting?
What is RSS? Resources to check out: Trudy Schuett writes about RSS at About.com. Russell Kay does a good job of explaining the basics of RSS over at Computerworld.
Studies show the state of podcasting, reminding us in the second part of the show that the use of portable media is not slowing down any time soon. The move from traditional media is only acccelerating, reflected in the research from groups like eMarketer and Marketing Sherpa.
We conclude by looking at how companies are applying podcasting both internally and externally with examples from Prentice-Hall, IBM, Cisco and Toyota.
Sources for the corporate podcasting examples include:
* Dave Taylor and the Gronstedt Group
* Rick Bruner, Business Blog Consulting
